VCR Video Camera JVC GR-HF 900

Ok, I did it! After laying around for many years with case open, I was able to repair this very old VCR Video Camera GR-HF 900 from JVC.

The plastic case reads:

The cool thing was back then that the tape used for this analogue camera was fully compatible with a full sized VHS Video recorder / player. So you just simply insert the little tape from the camera into an VHS / VCR adapter to play it with a regular old TV-Set with a VHS / VCR Video player attached to it. Or you could use a standard video / audio cable.

Another special thing is, that there is a high-voltage warning. Why? Because a little CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) is built in right where you watch with your eyes! So the little CRT is very close to your eyes, about 5 cm. (No liquid crystal color displays back then.)

This is the CRT, the original size is about 2 by 3 cm.

Problem reason

It was mainly a broken flex-cable. See Video below how I fixed it without getting a replacement. (Anyway, I replacement would be difficult to find if not impossible for such an old device.) So, I managed to repair the broken flex-cable.

The size is about 2 mm wide, see ruler on the right side. Within this narrow band of 2 mm I had to reconnect the wires.
